RCA 16×3 Restoration

This entry is part 1 of 2 in the series RCA 16X3 Antique Radio

Well yeah, I suppose I better start linking to my own videos, right?

In this series I’ll be restoring an antique RCA 16×3 radio. When I got it, it was in pristine condition, but wouldn’t play anything. However I think I made the problem worse replacing wires with rotten insulation, because the schematic has some really confusing elements in the exact section I’m having trouble with.

Anyway, here are the first two videos of the series. The third is someplace on my computer or drives, not really sure since I finished that video before the move, and now I’m not sure where it is(!). Honestly its probably not watching except for comedic value since I finally get the coil installed and well…. I guess you’ll just have to guess.

The next video I’ll be testing the tubes, since that should have been done already, and like one of the very first things I should have done.
